Rebuild Rear Elevated Deck

Situation: City had condemned the deck on this home in Cleveland Heights.
The deck was severely rotted, floor was missing and joists were rotten beyond reuse.

The old deck was completely demolished and a new one was built and approved by the city


Rebuild Front Porch

BEFORE:
This porch was condemned.
  • Floor boards were rotted, warped and missing.
  • Floor joists were rotted to the point of danger of collapse.
  • Support columns were so rotten they were no longer functional, this caused the second floor to heave on the inside.
The city had fined owner for non-compliance of code violations.

AFTER
The porch was completely rebuilt. Floor joists were replaced with new joists and support beams. Floor boards were replaced with new southern pine and painted with deck paint. Support columns are replaced with 6x6 inch solid columns. The cantilever (roof) was jacked up to level and the pitch on the second floor reduced to acceptable limits.
